Connecting to a Killing Floor 2 server is a simple process, start by either getting the IP from the server owner or by getting it from the GCP if you’re the server owner.

Getting the IP

You can get the IP from the GCP by following the steps on this article.

Getting the Query Port

To connect, Killing Floor 2 requires you to use the Query Port. You can locate the Query Port under Configuration > Server Options > [ADMIN] Query Port. It is generally the Game Port + 1 (for example a 14000 game port would have a 14001 query port).

Add the server to your Steam Favorites

In order to allow the server to appear in your server list under the Favorites tab, you need to add the server to your Steam game servers. To do this, open your Steam client. Under “View,” click “Game Servers” (see our Steam Server Browser guide for details), then add the server by clicking the ”+” in the bottom right. This will open a “Add server by IP” menu, where you can input your server’s IP:PORT.

Connecting

Using the IP and Query Port from the sections above or the server owner, you can follow these steps to connect.

Click “Browse Servers”

  1. Open the game.
  2. Click the “Browse Servers” button in the menu.
  3. Click the “Favorites” tab.
  4. If the server was added to your Steam favorites correctly, you will see it here. You may need to click “Refresh.”
