Change how your Terraria server starts by editing the fields on the Server Options page. The startup command itself is generated from those fields and cannot be edited by hand.
Change a Startup Option
- Log in to the Game Control Panel and select your server
- In the sidebar, click Server Options
- Find the option you want to change
- Enter the new value
- Click Save
- Restart your server from the Console page (changes won’t apply until you do)
Common Options
Each option on the page maps to one setting in the startup command. The ones you’ll change most often:
- World Name: Which world file from
saves/Worlds/the server loads. Entering a name with no matching file generates a new world. See Upload a World. - Difficulty (New Worlds Only):
0Normal,1Expert,2Master,3Journey. Only applies when a new world is generated. See Change Difficulty. - [ADVANCED] Terraria Version: The server version for vanilla servers. See Updating Your Vanilla Server.
- tModLoader Version: For tModLoader servers. See Updating tModLoader.
The exact list of options depends on which Terraria edition your server runs (vanilla, tModLoader, or TShock).
Still Not Working?
If a setting won’t save or doesn’t take effect after a restart, contact our support team with:
- Your Server UUID
- The option you changed and the value you set
- What the server does instead
