Back up your Unturned server by archiving its save folders with the File Manager.

Your save data lives inside the Servers/ folder in your server root. Open Servers/, then Default (on WinterNode servers the server’s folder is named Default). Inside it:

  • Level/: the world state for your map (structures, items, vehicles)
  • Players/: each player’s inventory, skills, and position

Make a Backup

  1. Stop your server from the Console page (Unturned writes its latest save data on shutdown)
  2. In the Game Control Panel sidebar, click File Manager
  3. Open Servers/, then Default
  4. Tick the checkboxes next to Level and Players
  5. Click Archive in the toolbar
  6. Download the archive to your computer using the download option in its ... menu, or over SFTP

For a backup of the entire server instead, archive everything in the server root. See Back Up Your Server Files Manually.

Restore a Backup

  1. Stop your server
  2. Upload the archive back into Servers/Default/
  3. Decompress it from the archive’s ... menu, letting it replace the Level and Players folders
  4. Start your server
